Why do we want to create a perfect world?

17 June 2017

TOP - ???

I'm asking myself a lot why we want things to go perfect or look perfect. The world is not perfect and it's never going to be perfect, and that's okay. Why do we need to change and remove things to make things better? I'm writing myself this because i'm asking myself this a lot now.

A while back I took some pictures for an assignment of people and their bedrooms, as feedback I got this: I had to change things, it wasn't perfect, it wasn't enough. I could do better. I had to photoshop things away or I had to put another thing instead of it. I understood the feedback, but no. I didn't want to change things. I didn't want to photoshop things away. It was good how it was. Why should I change things when it was how it was? I know I am the creator of the picture. I know that I could change it, I know I could make it "perfect" with nothing in the way. But it wasn't my bedroom, it was theirs. It should be shown how it is and why should I even change it when it's not like that in reality.
That's why this is the focus point of this shoot in this post.

This is a shoot from today, how it is now. Yes, it is not perfect, there is trash everywhere and that's okay. I want to portrait this because we are struggling with this everyday. With social media we want to make things look perfect and show that everything is okay even when it's not. I know we like pretty pictures but it's also okay to make imperfect ones.

In the pictures i'm showing that i'm having a one-man party. (it explains the trash i'm surrounded with) The diamond teardrops represents how I feel just like the black and white pictures. The assymetric ponytails are not perfect, so is the world. I'm wearing this top I found when cleaning up. I think it's my brothers when he still played soccer when he was 8 or something haha. I took this belt from a skater skirt I recently bought from Aliexpress. I thought the outfit missed something extra. The shorts i'm wearing is shorts I love to wear when i'm chilling at home. It's really comfortable and it has pockets in case I want to wear them outside the house. During this shoot I also picked up my soft pink blanket I love to lay in or sleep with, in the pictures it represents I want to sleep because i'm tired of everything.

I'm not okay, and that's okay.

I was not really sure if I liked the black background better or the plant background. First world problems right? I have this shirt for over 3 years now and honestly it is one of my favorite shirts ever! I have been wearing it indoors but also outdoors, the shirt is quite baggy so I also wear it as a pyjama sometimes.

This week was a weird one, a lot of things happend and it feels like that the time has gone too fast. We are in the middle of 2017 already, my first school year at artschool is ending!! I still have to pick what major I want to do next year... I'm still struggling what I want to do or what I don't want to do. I have been thinking a lot, not only about school but also about life. But sometimes I have to set my emotions away to accomplish my goals.

I also met up with Yona after almost 1 year! I told you it was crazy. Unfortunately I could only see her and her friend Laura for a few hours. Hopefully I will visit New York sometime in the future! Hey, maybe next year.

Eyeshadow Foundation Blush Lip Palette | Bornprettystore

18 May 2017

The packaging of this palette is way too cute! It is just really appealing to the eyes. I will probably use this palette for a lot of Instagram pictures. When I compare the palette I got to the one on the website, they both have really different colors! I also couldn´t pick which one I wanted to have because I thought there was only one color.

Weight: 160g
Size: 90*90*35mm

"It is very practical with eyeshadow, foundation powder and lip palette. It can fit your need to create beautiful facial looks. The color lasts all day without fading or creasing."

Link to the product.

The palette came with this small square box, the palette fitted perfectly in it. There was also some thick plastic around it so the palette won't break.

The back of the box.

My Chinese isn't that great so I have no idea what is written on it.

On the side. It is alled "Silver Charm shiney makeup kit".

It says "L'CH├łAR" to make it fancy I guess.

The names of all the colors.

The "foundation"?

Lip colors.

Here I swatched all the eyeshadows on my arm/hand. Only 2 - 3 shades were pigmented. Nr 1, 2 and 4. The other colors were almost invisible on my arm. When I put it on my eyelids you could see it way better which is kind of weird?

Here you can see the blush color, which was very much pigmented and I love this blush color! I actually use my blush color as an eyeshadow, so why can't I use this blush color as an eyeshadow aswell? I also put the "foundation" on my arm next to the blush swatch. It is way troo light for me as a foundation, but I think I can make it work as a concealer.

After and before picture using the "foundation". You can see that the "foundation" is too light for my skin. On the picture it doesn't seem that bad, but in real you can see the difference a lot better.

A look I created using this palette. I'm not wearing any lip colors from the palette.

Shipping was this time slower than normal, it came in 4 - 5 weeks. Usually it will arrive in 2 - 3 weeks.

The price is okay for this piece. There are a lot of colors, but the quality is "okay"
. The lip colors are not visible at all! :(

The smell of this palette reminded me of kids make up which is really not a pleasant smell. You can also smell it if you put it on your face.

I would give this 3 star, because only a few colors were pigmented on my hand. Most of the colors were almost transparent. But whenever I used it with a brush instead of my fingers, you could get more pigment from that. You can't really see all the colors on my skin color.

I couldn't use the "foundation" because it was way too light for my dark skin, it covers a bit of my eyebags. The design of this palette is super cute, which is a really good element. It is kind of dissapointing when the pigment isn't the best, but what can you expect with this price. I think you pay more for the packaging than for the product itself. I did take pictures of wearing the lip colors, but you really couldn't see any difference.

I also have a discount code for you: ''Junt10'', and you're ready to go with the 10% off! It is valid at any time with any products (except the discounted items).
